Claire Campbell

President

Claire Campbell (she/her) hails from Bellingham, Washington with Mt. Baker in her backyard. When she’s not at the mountain, she loves to mountain bike, freedive, and is learning to climb. You can find Claire napping in the ski lounge and wrenching at Scripps Green Bikes. Ask her about inclusivity and accessibility in the outdoors!

David Enders

President

David (he/him) has only been snowboarding since he was 18, but wants nothing else in life but to shred every day. Ask him about joining the winter sports community as an outsider, getting injured a lot, and about the fun and sendy activities the ski club has planned for this year. David also loves to cook and surf and is enthusiastic about climate change work.

Kirill Myagkov

CHIEF Advisor

Kirill (he/him) grew up between Eugene, Oregon & Moscow, Russia. He is an avid ski racer and big mountain backcountry skier, and is a Senior at Pomona majoring in Economics and Engineering. When he’s not on the mountain (which is rare), he is also a Manager at the Pomona Green Bike Shop, an advisor and former fund manager at Sagehen Capital Management, and a tinkerer of all sorts of engineering projects. Kirill loves getting sendy with the crew, whether it’s on skis, mountain bikes, rock climbing, snowmobiles or any other exciting, adrenaline-filled activity.

Carlos Santana

accessibility manager

Carlos (he/him) is a Pomona sophomore from Miami, Florida. Growing up in tropical South Florida, he only started skiing once he got to SoCal. He fell in love as soon as his skis hit the snow and he wants to widely share this experience with others who’ve never had the chance. Reach out to him about inclusion and accessibility in skiing/snowboarding!

Katie Chao

Creative director

Katie (she/her) was born and raised in Seattle, and has been cross-country skiing like a bozo since she was 13. While she’s newer to skiing in the downward direction god intended, Katie is no stranger to the mountains–she’s an avid climber, backpacker, and all-around erratic. Katie is a sophomore at Pomona majoring in Computer Science, and when she’s not chasing filthy sends of all sorts, you can find her downing yerb after yerb after yerb.

Carolyn Coyne

Creative director

Carolyn (she/her) is a Pomona sophomore from New Jersey. Yes, you read that right. The Armpit of America. When she’s not defending her home state (that’s ironic), she’s working with Katie to find ways to spread the ski and snowboard cheer loud and clear. Although she learned how to ski last year (on a mixture of dirt and ice in dirty jerz), Carolyn absolutely loves the mountain and getting sendy with the team. Catch her taking lots of photos, playing field hockey,  and drinking milk at every meal (strong bones, am I right). Ask her about how to get involved and if you’re brave, how to do the clock.

Claire Vlases

Financial manager

Claire (she/her) is a sophomore at CMC majoring in Computer Science and Philosophy. She grew up on a small farm in Montana and loves the outdoors. You might see her backpacking, biking, eating food, or sheep wrangling! Reach out if you’re interested in learning more about backcountry skiing or want a new friend!

Marina Shishkina

Events manager

The name’s Marina (she/her)

Marina Shishkina

I go to Scripps

I’m hyped to organize our trips

I love to ski

And sip green tea

Call me if you want to dance

I’ll take you to Après Ski in France

That’s where I learned to shred

At age 2, in that pizza spread

If I’m not up in the snow

I’m probably at an art show

So that’s all from me

Here’s to a great year, wee!

Jacob Al-Husseini

Alumni Board

Jacob (he/him) is an alumni of Pomona College and a true legend of 5C Ski. Hailing from more places than we can keep track of, Jacob is a globetrotter that carries his stoke and sarcasm wherever the wind takes him. He graduated with a degree in Chemistry in the Spring of 2022, and we’re so lucky to have him hanging in the LA area before he goes back to school to pursue a career in medicine. During his time at the 5Cs, Jacob piloted the Beginner Daze we all know and love, and we’re honored to carry his legacy forward. Catch Jacob shredding, surfing, and climbing!
