Big Bear Mountain Resort

Getting There/Rentals

  • 1 1/2 hour drive to either Snow Summit or Bear Mountain from Claremont.
  • Parking on weekends can be challenging at both resorts, and you will likely have to park at a remote lot and use the resort’s free shuttle service.  There is clear signage for the locations of these remote lots.
  • Lift Ticket Price (interchangeable between Snow Summit and Bear Mountain):
    • Weekday: $89
    • Weekend/holiday: $109
    • 20% discount if you purchase your ticket online at least 72 hours in advance (for non-holidays)
  • Both mountains are on the IKON pass.
  • Gear Rentals: Rentals are available at the base of both resorts.  The resorts offer a selection of beginner, standard, and high performance packages, the cost of which vary throughout the season.

Lodging and Food

  • Accomodations:
    • There are a large number of cabins located near the resorts, as well as around Big Bear Lake.  While the cabins range in price, they tend to all be on the expensive side during the winter season.  A cabin is a good option if you are going to the mountain with a large group of people.
    • The low-tick options for lodging are hostels, which include ITH Big Bear Retreat Center and Hostel and the Big Bear Hip Inn.
  • Food: Several dining options are available at the bases of both Big Bear and Snow Summit.
